Game Controls / How To Play
1. Your goal is to be the first Yoshi to cross the finish line (at 1000 yards) without getting injured even once.
2. Each Yoshi moves at the same speed on the ground and at the same (slower) speed when walking on clouds.
3. To get across the level, each player will have to "draw clouds" in order to guide when their Yoshi walks. To draw clouds...
3a. Touch the stylus to the lower screen but DO NOT lift it up (keep it in contact with the lower screen).
3b. Drag the stylus along the lower screen, creating a line of clouds where the stylus drew, the lift the stylus from the screen.
3c. Remember: Clouds have a life-span; eventually, they will disappear.
3d. Remember: You can only have a limited number of clouds on the screen at a time. If you hit the limit by drawing new clouds, the oldest clouds will vanish.
4. As you proceed through the level, enemies can injur you by contact and cause you to lose.
4a. The only enemy type you'll encounter is Briers (spikey enemies that hover in place).
4a. Standard Briers are small and green. They can be encircled as long as the circle is just big enough that its spikes to pop the bubble.
4a. The second Brier type is a group of three or more large, orange Briers. These Briers can NOT be encircled in a bubble.
4a. The large, orange Briers appear on your screen when your opponent has hit three or more enemies with a single egg (see below).
5. There are a number of ways to defeat enemies...
5a. You can defeat enemies by throwing eggs at them (tap the screen with the stylus while Yoshi has eggs to throw an egg in that direction).
5b. If you can defeat three or more enemies with one thrown egg, large, orange Briers will appear in your opponent's path.
5c. You can trap enemies by drawing cloud barriers (the same as drawing clouds, see above)
5d. You can encircle SOME enemies (by quickly drawing a circle of clouds around them) which then becomes a bubble, turning the enemies into coins.
5e. Bubbles from encircled enemies will rise upward. You can grab them with the stylus and throw them at Yoshi to collect them.
6. Along the path, you'll want Yoshi to eat as much fruit as possible...
6a. If you get Yoshi within 1 yard (1 Yoshi-width) of some fruit at the same height, Yoshi will automatically eat the fruit.
6b. The more (and better quality) fruit Yoshi eats, the more eggs he can produce to throw at enemies.
6c. The eggs can be thrown at enemies to defeat them (see above).
6d. Since your green Yoshi can only have 20 eggs at a time, he'll constantly need to pick up more fruit to produce more eggs.
7. To make Yoshi jump, tap him with the stylus.
8. To make Yoshi jump higher, tap him with the stylus and hold the stylus there before you let go.
NOTE: The longer you hold the stylus to Yoshi, the higher he'll jump.
9. To make Yoshi flutter kick (float for a couple seconds), tap him while he is in mid-air during a jump.
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, your opponent's character and position will be displayed.
2. On the upper screen, your opponent's egg count will be in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, your opponent's distance remaining will be in the top center.
4. On the lower screen, your own character and position will be displayed.
5. On the lower screen, your own egg count will be in the top left corner.
6. On the lower screen, your own distance remaining will be in the top center.
