Hint #1 - Higher Scoring Words
The longer the word, the higher the score is the usual rule. There are, however, several factors to take into account. Not all letters have the same value (letters are worth 1 plus the number of red dots on the tile). This is why, in the "Gift a Puzzle" Demo...
Hint #2 - Obey The Jade ("Gift a Puzzle" Demo)
...the jade tiles act as multipliers for the entire word (first 2x, than 3x, etc.) the mode jade tiles there are in the word. When working with multipliers, try to encorporate as many high-scoring letters as you can. It's not hard to take a word with three letters and have it be worth more than a word with six or seven letters.
Hint #3 - To Drill Down Or Not To Drill Down ("Battle Mode" Vs Play)
The primary difference when Drill Down is turned on or off is that, when you add a letter to the word, the letter's tile either stays there but becomes blank until the word is submitted (off) or the tile is removed immediately (on). The difference in how the game is played is that when there is No Drill Down, there will be shorter, lower-scoring words which can be planned ahead; when there is Drill Down, the planning aspect is partially removed, allowing for longer, highe3r-scoring words and a quicker game overall.
