Walkthrough #1 - Tutorial Mode
1. While on the Tutorial Mode menu, three "Bonus Hints" will be displayed on the upper screen.
1a. "1) Focus on colors and shapes"
1b. "2) Unlock new pieces by not making mistakes"
2. Tap on the "(1)" to learn "How To Play" the game.
2a. Make every row, column, and region contain each unique image. THAT'S IT!
2b. Use logic to figure out which images go into each square. Since each puzzle has ONLY ONE SOLUTION, there is no need to guess.
2c. There will be times when it will not be so easy to determine which image goes in a square. Don't worry.
2d. Instead of trying to remember all the possibilities, use... The Mark System!
2e. The Mark System is a way to take notes on what could go in a square, without making a final decision.
2f. Each square in a puzzle can hold up to 9 Marks. Each Mark's position matches its Piece in the collection.
2g. This way any image can be used! That's right... Images!
2h. Those familiar with number Sudoku should try playing with their favorite images instead.
2i. Since there is NO MATH IN TOON-DOKU, why use numbers? Numbers are just pictures.
2j. This is yous game... Use the pictures you like best!
3. Tap on the "(2)" to learn how the "Game Controls" work.
3a. Toon-Doku is very easy to control. You can use the stylus, the buttons, or a combination of both.
3b. Stylus Controls: Touch any empty square to highlight it. Touch a Piece in the collection to pick it up.
3c. Slide that Piece onto any empty square on the puzzle or onto the Mark System.
3d. Touch a locked square to pick up a copy of the locked Piece. Touch and Slide any placed Piece off the puzzle to remove it.
3e. Double Touch any empty square or outside the puzzle to Zoom in/out.
3f. While Zoomed in, Touch any unfilled square and slide the puzzle around.
3g. Double Touch the Undo Button to undo the last move.
3h. Button Controls: Use the +Control Pad or A,B,X,Y Buttons to highlight an empty square.
3i. Press the L or R Button twice to Zoom In/Out. While Zoomed In, Hold the L or R button and use the +Control Pad or A,B,X,Y Buttons to move the puzzle.
3j. Hold L and R Buttons to select a Piece from the Collection.
3k. Holding L and R Buttons, use +Control Pad to select a Piece, A Button to place the Piece in the highlighted square, and B Button to remove a Piece.
3l. Holding L and R Buttons, use X Button to place the Piece in the Mark system and Y Button to remove the Piece from the Mark System.
3m. Hybrid Controls: Holding the L or R button, Touch a Piece in the Collection to place it in the highlighted square.
3n. Holding the L or R Button, Touch the Mark System to make/remove a mark and Touch a placed Piece to remove it from the puzzle.
3o. Left or right handed is up to you. All controls are active, so use the ones you feel comfortable with.
4. Tap on the "(3)" to learn about the "Image Editing" system.
4a. Completing Boss levels in Stage Mode unlocks the custom image slots. These slots are used for saving images you create.
4b. So how do you create images? Easy!
4c. Enter the Collection: Select any image, then tap the Edit Button.
4d. From here, a copy of the image can be modified. Tap the Trash can icon to clear the canvas.
4e. To undo this action, tap the arrow next to the Trash can. To Redo, tap the other arrow.
4f. The next four items along the top of the Touch Screen are the brush options. Tap them to change brush size and shape.
4g. On the left side of the Touch Screen is the color selector. Each image can have up to 15 colors.
4h. Tap any color to select it. Tap the eraser in the first slot to erase any color.
4i. Once a color has been selected, it can be modified by using the Color controls on the far right of the touch screen.
4j. Increase or Decrease the amount of Red, Bue, and Green in any color using the corresponding arrows.
4k. Under the Color Controls, the Palette Swap tool is used to swap all 15 colors for the colors of other images in the Collection.
4l. Once your masterpiece is complete, tap the Save Icon in the top right.
4m. Then choose which custom image to save over. Touch anywhere else to cancel.
4n. Lastly, tap the Back Arrow at the bottom right of the Touch Screen to Exit.
5. Options "(4)" through "(9)" will be grayed out in the downloaded demo and will not be tappable.
