Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. If this is the first time the game is played, the host will be asked to select their preferred language.
3a. When the language option appears on the lower screen, the host taps the language of their choice.
3b. the available language options (for the North American version) are English, French, and Spanish.
4. When "Tap the Touch Screen to play" appears along the bottom of the lower screen, the host taps anywhere on the lower screen.
Downloading
1. The host taps "Multiplayer" twice (the second option from the top).
2. The host taps "DS Download Play" twice (the bottom option).
3. The host taps their choice twice: "Own puzzle" (a puzzle the host has created) or "Story mode puzzle" (a pre-created puzzle/in-game level).
NOTE: If the host hasn't created and saved any puzzles, the "Own puzzle" option will not be selectable.
4. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
5. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
6. When the graphic bar appears saying "Rabbids Go Home", the guests tap on it.
7. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
8. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps "Start" in the center of the screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. On the bottom of the lower screen, the host will see a series of arrows and a "Send" button.
2. Before the "Send" button, the first (blue) arrow allows the host to edit the currently selected level (which can then be sent to the guest).
NOTE: For information on editing levels, see below.
3. Before the "Send" button, the second arrow is the beginning arrow ("|<") and takes the host to the first available level (in order).
4. Before the "Send" button, the third arrow is the back arrow ("<") and takes the host to the previous level (in order).
5. After the "Send" button, the fourth arrow is the next arrow (">") and takes the host to the next available level (in order).
6. After the "Send" button, the fifth arrow is the end arrow (">|") and takes the host to the last available level (in order).
7. When the desired level is selected, the host taps the "Send" button in the bottom center of the lower screen.
8. The guest taps the blinking icon in the top right corner of the lower screen and then taps the green check mark that appears.
9. Levels can continuously be selected, edited, and sent while the host and guest remain connected.
NOTE: If the guest is in a level, the blinking cursor appears to indicate another level is ready, but the current level isn't interrupted.
Level Editing (Host)
1. Finding items to add: Available items are located in the toolbar below; cycle through toolbar levels by tapping the up.down arrows to the right.
2. Adding items to the stage: Touch the item with the stylus and drag the item (without lifting the stylus from the screen) to the desired location.
3. Removing items from the stage: Touch the item with the stylus and drag the item (without lifting the stylus from the screen) to the toolbar.
4. Reposition an item: Tap an in-stage item with the stylus, then tap the rotate icon (double arrows) that appears to the top right of the item.
5. Stretch an item (when available): Tap an in-stage item with the stylus, then tap and drag (without lifting the stylus) the pulsing plungers.
6. Hide an item: Tap an in-stage item with the stylus, then tap the hide icon (the minus sign) that appears next to the rotate icon.
7. Test the level (with hidden items in): Tap the flashing green Play icon on the far right side of the toolbar.
8. Send the level (as is): Tap the up arrow above the far left side of the toolbar and tap the send icon (the top icon; right-pointing green arrow).
9. Load a saved stage: Tap the up arrow above the far right side of the toolbar and tap the load icon (the top icon; downward-pointing green arrow).
10. Reset the current stage: Tap the up arrow above the far right side of the toolbar and tap the reload icon (the second icon; circular green arrow).
11. Save the current stage: Tap the up arrow above the far right side of the toolbar and tap the save icon (the third icon; icon with a floppy disc).
12. Play the level (as the guest would): Tap the up arrow above the far right side of the toolbar and tap the start icon (the bootom icon; gears).
13. Return to editing (after playing): Tap the up arrow above the far right side of the toolbar and tap the edit icon (the bootom icon; tools).
Playing A Level (Guest or Host)
NOTE: Some of the early levels, if unedited, will play themselves; this is to demonstrate what the desired effect is in the main game.
1. Add available items: Touch the item with the stylus and drag the item (without lifting the stylus from the screen) to the desired location.
2. Remove added items: Touch the item with the stylus and drag the item (without lifting the stylus from the screen) to the toolbar.
3. Reposition an item: Tap an in-stage item with the stylus, then tap the rotate icon (double arrows) that appears to the top right of the item.
4. Play the level: Tap the flashing green Play icon on the far right side of the toolbar.
What To Look For (When Playing/Editing A Level)
1. On the upper screen, a complete map of the level is displayed.
2. On the lower screen, the level is shown.
3. On the lower screen, the toolbar is displayed along the bottom edge of the screen.
4. On the lower screen, the toolbar has four slots where available items (to add into the level, if desired) are shown with available quantities.
5. On the lower screen, the up/down arrows near the right side of the toolbar display the previous/next level of item slots.
6. On the lower screen, the play button (to activate the level as is) is on the far right side of the toolbar.
7. On the lower screen, the up arrow over the far left item slot allows the host to send a level or either player to disconnect.
8. On the lower screen, the up arrow over the play button (host only) allows the host to load, save, or reset a level, or turn the grid on/off.
Overall Goals
1. Help the Rabbid in the shopping cart collect as many items (cones) as possible.
2. Help the Rabbid in the shopping cart exit the level via the toilet.
