This year, at Origins Game Fair 2012, DSSingleCard.com is back, once again hosting the Nintendo 3DS / DS program.
So, what does all of this mean and how will it all work?
Question #1: What is Single-Card Download?
Answer: Single-Card Download (a.k.a. Download Play) is an ability that the Nintendo 3DS and DS systems have that allows (up to) 16 people to
play a game and only one of those people needs to own a copy of the game. Single-Card Download features include Vs Play (head-to-head competition),
Co-op Play (cooperative play), Mini Games (smaller games, not part of the main game), and Demos (where you can download a copy of the game that you
can play solo).
Question #2: Who can participate?
Answer: Any attendee (with a full convention badge) of the 2012 Origins Game Fair that has a Nintendo 3DS, DS, DS Lite, DSi, or DSi XL system
(fully charged) with them is welcome to participate. Some events will specifically require a 3DS system. Charging up your Nintendo DS system must
be done on your own time. Some of the events will require that that you bring a game as well, and those events are noted below.
Question #3: What do you need to bring?
Answer 3a: You will need to bring your system (Nintendo 3DS will work for all events, Nintendo DS, DS Lite, DSi, or DSi XL will work for some events).
Answer 3b: You will need to bring your charging cable (and charge it up each night in your Hotel room; there is no guarantee of usable power outlets).
Answer 3c: For some games, you will need to own (and bring) your own copy of the game (see below for details).
Question #4: Does it cost anything to participate?
Answer, Part 4a: Each event will cost the event minimum ($2). Players purchase either one specific event ticket or one generic token from the convention and bring it to the event.
Answer, Part 4b: Anyone wishing to pre-register for any of these events can do so at www.OriginsGameFair.com as long as their badge is already purchased/reserved.
Answer, Part 4c: The specific event numbers needed to pre-order any of these events will be listed below with the events' names when available.
