Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. When "Touch screen to continue" appears on the lower screen, the host taps anywhere on the lower screen.
Downloading
1. The host taps on "Multiplayer" (the bottom option).
2. The host taps on "Single-Card Play" (the top option).
3. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
4. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
5. When the graphic bar appears saying "Ninjatown", the guests tap on it.
6. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
7. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps "Start" in the center of the screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. The host taps on the green check mark in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
2. The host selects from three available maps by tapping on their choice.
3. The host taps on the green check mark in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
Game Controls / How To Play
1. Look Around: Press up, down, left, or right on the direction pad (or draw a line in the direction to look in with the stylus on the lower screen).
2. Build a Melee Ninja Hut (w/ 2 Ninjas): Tap on an empty lot (light green square), tap the Melee Build Icon, select the Ninja Hut type, and tap the green check mark.
NOTE: Melee Ninjas attack monsters using hand-to-hand combat.
2a. Melee Ninja Hut Type 1 = Business Ninja (Gray)
2b. Melee Ninja Hut Type 2 = Anti-Ninja (Orange)
2c. Melee Ninja Hut Type 3 = Wee Ninja (Black)
3. Build a Ranged Ninja Hut (w/ 2 Ninjas): Tap on an empty lot (light green square), tap the Ranged Build Icon, select the Ninja Hut type, and tap the green check mark.
NOTE: Melee Ninjas attack monsters using projectiles shot/thrown from afar.
3a. Ranged Ninja Hut Type 1 = Sniper Ninja (Green)
3b. Ranged Ninja Hut Type 2 = White Ninja (White)
3c. Ranged Ninja Hut Type 3 = Forest Ninja (Dark Green)
4. Place Melee Ninjas At Ready: Tap on a Melee Ninja Hut, tap on the red flag icon, and then tap a location on the map (inside the circle); tap the red X when complete.
5. Set targeting options: Tap on a Ranged Ninja Hut, tap on the targeting icon, tap on a targeting option to select it for the hut, then tap on the green check mark.
NOTE: Targeting options are (from left to right): Target Closest, Target Strongest, and Target Weakest.
6. Heal Injured Ninjas Quicker: Tap on a Ninja Hut and then tap on the Sleeping Ninja icon.
7. Sell Back A Ninja Hut: Tap on a Ninja Hut, tap on the Eraser icoon, and then tap on the green check mark.
8. Activate Ol' Master Ninja's Abilities...
8a. Tap on Ol' Master Ninja's Power Cane near the top left corner of the lower screen and then choose an ability.
8a1. Get Off My Lawn = blow into the microphone to puch demons around
NOTE: Aim the wind with the direction pad and then begin blowing into the microphone.
8a2. Wake Up Call = startle your ninjas to attentiveness
8a3. Magnifying Glass = fry some demons as if they were ants under a microscope
8a4. Hickory Lunge = Ol' Master Ninja attacks demons
8a5. Wheel Of Efficiency = receive random bonuses and power-ups
8b. After an ability icon has been tapped, tap on the green check mark to activate the ability.
9. Build a Non-Hut Building (w/ no Ninjas): Tap on an empty lot (light green square), tap the Buildings icon, select the Building type, and tap the green check mark.
9a. Training Dojo (75 cookies to build) = increases attack power of nearby ninjas
9b. Guard Tower (50 cookies to build) = increases attack range of nearby ninjas
9c. Ninja Temple (75 cookies to build) = increases Ol' Master Ninja Power and cookie earning from enemies' defeat
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, your map is located on the left.
2. On the upper screen, your opponent's map is located on the right.
3. On the upper screen, your currency (in cookies) is displayed above and by the left side of your map.
4. On the upper screen, your health (in hearts) is displayed above and by the right side of your map.
5. On the upper screen, your opponent's currency (in cookies) is displayed above and by the left side of their map.
6. On the upper screen, your opponent's health (in hearts) is displayed above and by the right side of their map.
7. On the upper screen, the upcoming demon groups are shown (along with their progress) in the bottom left corner (the demon progress box).
8. On the upper screen, the current attack wave is displayed in the top left corner of the demon progress box.
9. On the upper screen, the amount of time that has elapsed so far is displayer in the top right corner of the demon progress box.
10. On the lower screen, the zoomed-in, editable view of your map is shown.
11. On the upper screen, Ol' Master Ninja's Power Cane (to access Ol' Master Ninja's abilities) is in the top left corner.
Overall Goals
1. Survive longer than your opponent.
2. Don't let any demons through to steal your hearts.
