Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. Tap the screen when the "Touch the Touch Screen to Begin" message appears.
4. Once the game begins there will be NO SOUND WHATSOEVER coming from the guests' DS systems.
Downloading - Boggle
1. Tap on the "Boggle" logo.
4. Tap on "Single-Card Play".
5. For a classic-style Boggle game, tap "Classic".
5a. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
5b. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
5c. When the graphic bar appears saying "Boggle", the guests tap on it.
5d. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
5e. When the host's upper screen says that the number of uploads complete equals the number of guests, press the "A" button.
5f. The guest(s) should make sure the host's system name is highlighted on their lower screen and then press the "A" button.
5g. Once the host sees the names of all of the guests on their lower screen, they press the "A" button twice.
5h. To begin the game, the host then uses their stylus to
6. For a Time Attack Boggle game, tap "Time Attack".
6a. Select the game length (1-5 minutes) by using the stylus or the direction pad and then press the "A" button".
6b. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
6c. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
6d. When the graphic bar appears saying "Boggle", the guests tap on it.
6e. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
6f. When the host's upper screen says that the number of uploads complete equals the number of guests, press the "A" button.
6g. The guest(s) should make sure the host's system name is highlighted on their lower screen and then press the "A" button.
6h. Once the host sees the names of all of the guests on their lower screen, they press the "A" button twice.
6i. The host then uses their stylus to shake up the letter cube to begin the game.
Downloading - Battleship
1. Tap on the "Battleship" logo.
4. Tap on "Single-Card Play".
5. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
6. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
7. When the graphic bar appears saying "Boggle", the guests tap on it.
8. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
9. When the host's upper screen says that the number of uploads complete equals the number of guests, press the "A" button.
10. The guest(s) should make sure the host's system name is highlighted on their lower screen and then press the "A" button twice.
11. Once the host sees the names of all of the guests on their lower screen, they press the "A" button again.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1a. Classic Mode: Traditional 3-minute game of Boggle
1b. Time Attack Mode: Similar to Classic, but you can choose 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 minutes
2a. When choosing the hidden locations of your ships, simply drage the ship from the right and drop it onto the grid or use the direction pad.
2b. To rotate the ship, tap the wheel in the lower right corner with the stylus or use the L button and R button.
2c. To anchor the ship (permanently place it), tap the ship you want to place next or press the "A" button.
2d. To deploy the fleet once the final ship is anchored, tap the word "Deploy" at the bottom of the screen or press the "A" button.
Game Controls / How To Play - Boggle
1. When making a word, you can connect letters the are to the beside, above, below, or diagonal from the previous letter.
2. The game will not allow you to accidentally make the same word twice.
3. Once time runs out, each player will be asked to approve or reject any unrecognized word.
3a. You will be asked to approve your own unrecognized words as well as your opponents' unrecognized words.
3b. If an unrecognized word is approved by both players, it will be allowed, but only for that one game.
3c. If an unrecognized word is rejected by even one player, it will be rejected from both players' lists
4. Guests can press the "A" button to skip through the credits.
5. After each game is completed, the guest will need to power off their Nintendo DS, power it back up, and re-download.
Game Controls / How To Play - Battleship
1. Once both players have deployed their ships, the shooting begins with the host taking the first shot.
2. The upper screen will show your deployment and the lower screen will display where you've fired and whether or not you hit.
3. To target, either tap on the spot on the lower screen you want to shoot at or use the direction pad.
4. Once you've selected the spot you'd like to fire at, either tap the already-selected spot or press the "A button".
5. Guests can press the "A" button to skip through the credits.
6. After each game is completed, the guest will need to power off their Nintendo DS, power it back up, and re-download.
What To Look For
1a. Words. (Not much else to say here.)
2a. Because you and your opponent are in different oceans, your opponent's ships can be in the same spot as yours.
2b. Because you and your opponent are in different oceans, shooting at a spot where your ships are located won't affect your ships.
Overall Goals
1a. Find as many real (and mutually accepted) words as you can in the time allotted.
2a. Sink your opponent's ships before they can sink yours.
