Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. To skip the opening sequence, the host can tap the touch screen while the sequence is playing.
4. The host then taps the lower screen when "Touch To Start" flashes on it.
Entering Into Multiplayer
1. The host taps on "Multiplayer Mode" (the large circle on the right).
2. The host then taps "Single-Card Play" (the large circle on the left).
3. The host taps the green check mark to confirm.
Game/Feature/Options Selection (Host)
1. All options are selected and set by the host.
2. The first selectable option is which arena you will do battle in...
2a. As each of the maps is selected, a preview will be displayed on the upper screen on the right side.
2b. To change which arena is selected, the host can tap the left and right arrows next to the arena's name on the lower screen.
3. The following maps are available from the beginning:
3a. Arena #01 (Starts as Arena #01): "Combat Hall" (small map)
3b. Arena #02 (Starts as Arena #02): "Data Shrine" (medium map)
3c. Arena #03 (Starts as Arena #03): "Processor Core" (small map)
3d. Arena #04 (Starts as Arena #04): "High Ground" (medium map)
3e. Arena #05 (Starts as Arena #05): "Ice Hive" (medium map)
3f. Arena #06 (Starts as Arena #06): "Alinos Perch" (large map)

5. The second selectable option is the Point Goal...
5a. The Point Goal is number of points it takes to win the game.
5b. The Point Goal can be changed if the host taps the left and right arrows next to the current Point Goal setting on the lower screen.
5b. The Point Goal can be set to 1, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100.
5c. The Point Goal default is 7.
6. The third selectable option is the Time Limit...
6a. The Time Limit can be changed if the host taps the left and right arrows next to the current Time Limit setting on the lower screen.
6b. The Time Limit can be set to 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, or 60.
6c. The Time Limit default is 7.
7. The fourth selectable option, Team Play, can be set to on or off...
7a. Selecting Team Play will automatically divide the players into teams and works best with four players.
7b. The Team Play can be turned on or off by the host tapping the left and right arrows next to the current Team Play setting on the lower screen.
8. To get to the second screen of options, the host taps on the "Advanced" icon near the bottom left corner of the lower screen.
9. The first advanced option is whether or not the Hunters appear on each others' radars...
9a. This option can be changed by tapping on the box to the right of it's title.
9b. You can select On or Off. The default is Off.
10. The second advanced option is the amount of damage taken...
10a. This option can be changed by tapping on the box to the right of it's title.
10b. You can select Medium, High, or Low. The default is Medium.
11. The third advanced option is whether you can harmed by friendly fire (teammates in Team Play)...
11a. This option can be changed by tapping on the box to the right of it's title.
11b. You can select Off or On. The default is Off.
12. The fourth advanced option is which weapon set the Hunters get to use...
12a. This option can be changed by tapping on the box beneath it's title.
12b. You can select Default Weapons or Affinity Weapons. The default is Default Weapons.
13. To lock in the advanced options, the host taps the green check mark at the bottom center of the lower screen.
14. To lock in the standard options, the host taps the green check mark at the bottom center of the lower screen.
15. To select a Hunter, the host taps twice on the icon for their chosen Hunter on the lower screen.
Downloading
3. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
4. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
5. When the graphic bar appears saying "Metroid Prime Hunters", the guests tap on it.
6. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
7. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are ready, the host taps "Lock Players" in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection (Guests)
1. When the introductory screen is displayed, the guest(s) tap the green check mark in the bottom center of the lower screen.
2. The first option the guests can select is their control type...
2a. The are four control types: Stylus Mode Right, Stylus Mode Left, Dual Mode Right, and Dual Mode Left.
2b. In Stylus Mode Right, right-handed players control Samus's actions with the stylus (see below).
2c. In Stylus Mode Left, left-handed players control Samus's actions with the stylus (see below).
2d. In Dual Mode Right, right-handed players control Samus's actions with the stylus or the buttons (see below).
2e. In Dual Mode Left, left-handed players control Samus's actions with the stylus or the buttons (see below).
3. The second option the guests can select is the Sensitivity of their touch-screen commands...
3a. The higher the setting, the more effective smaller, shorter movements become.
3b. The Sensitivity can be set at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15.
3c. The default Sensitivity is 7.
4. The final option the guests can select is Look Invert...
4a. If Look Invert is set to On, the controls and their directions will not match on the screen (controling left moves your character right).
4b. Look Invert can be set to On or Off. The default is Off.
5. When all of these settings are set, the guest(s) tap the green check mark in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
6. When guest is done selecting their options, their name and a picture of Samus (all guests are Samus) appear of the host's lower screen.
7. When all players have completed selecting their options, the host taps "Start Game" near the upper right corner of the lower screen.
Game Controls / How To Play
1a. Move forward: Press up on the direction pad
1b. Move backward: Press down on the direction pad
1c. Move left/right: Press left/right on the direction pad
1d. Jump: Double-tap the lower screen or press the "A" button, the "B" button, the "X" button, or the "Y" button.
1e. Attack: Press the "L" button
1f. Boost: Press the "R" button
1g. Change viewing angle: Move the stylus around the touch screen
1h. Switch active visors: Touch the small circle in the bottom center of the lower screen
1i. Switch physical form: Touch the large circle in the bottom right corner of the lower screen
1j. Using the Scan visor: When a box appears around an object, hold down the "L" button to scan it until the information appears on-screen
1k. View current scores: Press and hold the Start button for as long as you want the current point totals on-screen
1l. Switch special weapons: Press & hold the right of the three icons on the top right of the lower screen & drag it to the picked-up special weapon of choice
2a. Move forward: Press the "X" button
2b. Move backward: Press the "B" button
2c. Move left/right: Press the "Y" button/"A" button
2d. Jump: Double tap the lower screen or press any direction on the direction pad
2e. Attack: Press the "R" button

4d. Jump: Press the "L" button
4e. Attack: Press the "R" button
4f. Boost: Press the "L: button
4g. Change viewing angle: Press the desired direction on the direction pad
4h. Switch active visors: Touch the small circle in the bottom center of the lower screen
4i. Switch physical form: Touch the large circle in the bottom left corner of the lower screen
4j. Using the Scan visor: When a box appears around an object, hold down the "R" button to scan it until the information appears on-screen
4k. View current scores: Press and hold the Start button for as long as you want the current point totals on-screen
4l. Switch special weapons: Press & hold the left of the three icons on the top left of the lower screen & drag it to the picked-up special weapon of choice
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, your current point total (kills) will be displayed in different locations (depending on the character).
2. On the upper screen, your current energy level will be displayed in different locations (depending on the character).
3. On the upper screen, the icon for the currently-selected weapon will be displayed on the right side of the screen (not in Alt-Form).
4. On the upper screen, the current ammo level for the selected weapon is displayed along the right side of the screen (not in Alt-Form).
5. On the lower screen, your radar is located in the center of the screen.
6. On the lower screen, your current rank will be displayed to the left of the radar.
7. On the lower screen, the amount of time remaining is diplayed beneath your rank.
8. On the lower screen, the icon to change between your standard form and your Alt-Form is in the bottom right corner.
9. On the lower screen, the icon to select the missile launcher is in the top center of the screen (it looks like a missile).
10. On the lower screen, the icon to select the standard laser cannon is to the left of the missile launcher icon (it looks like a Bull's Eye).
11. On the lower screen, the icon depicting the currently-available sub-weapon is to the right of the missile launcher.
12. On the lower screen, the icon to switch which sub-weapon is currently selected is in the top right corner (it looks like a ball and a curve).
Overall Goals
