Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. When "Touch Screen To Start" appears on the lower screen, thew host taps anywhere on the lower screen.
U>Creating A Save File
1. If this is the first time the game is being played, the host must create a save file slot.
2. The far left icon ("Start") will be highlighted (with the label above the icon) by default.
3. The host taps the Start icon.
4. The host taps "New Game" (the top option).
5. The host selects the game's difficulty level by tapping on their choice (Easy, Normal, or Hard).
6. The host selects a save file slot (1, 2, 3, or 4) by tapping on their choice.
7. The host confirms their choice by tapping the giant green check mark.
8. The host selects the instrument of their choice (Lead Guitar, Keyboard, Bass Guitar, or Drums).
9. The host can then choose to customize their in-game character's hair color, eye color, and skin tone by tapping the arrows by each option.
10. When the host is done customizing their in-game character, they tap the arrow in the bottom left corner of the lower screen.
11. The host can accept the default character name or enter their own using the on-screen keyboard.
12. When the host is done customizing their character's name, they tap the arrow in the bottom left corner of the lower screen.
13. The host then selects their desired music style (Pop, Rock, or Funk) by tapping on their choice twice.
14. The host can accept the default band name or enter their own using the on-screen keyboard.
15. When the host is done customizing their band's NAME, they tap the arrow in the bottom left corner of the lower screen.
16. If the host wishes to skip to multiplayer when the game's narrative begins, they can turn off the power on the Nintendo DS and then power it back on.
Downloading
1. The host taps the third option from the left (the icon with two people-like silhouettes) twice.
2. The host taps the desired game save file by tapping it (the host taps it twice if it isn't already highlighted).
3. The host confirms their selection by tapping on the giant green check mark.
4. The host taps "Download Play" (the bottom option) twice.
5. The host confirms their selection by tapping on the giant green check mark.
6. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
7. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
8. When the graphic bar appears saying "Imagine rock star Ubisoft", the guests tap on it.
9. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
10. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps the check mark in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. The host selects the venue to play at by tapping the arrows on the left and right sides of the top box on the lower screen.
2. All players select the song they'd like to play by tapping on the arrows on the left and right sides of the bottom box on the lower screen.
3. All players select their own difficulty level by tapping Easy, Normal, or Hard inside the bottom box on the lower screen.
4. When players have selected their song choice and difficulty level (and when the host has selected the venue), all players tap the "Vote" button in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
5. All players tap the arrow in the bottom of the screen to acknowledge the results.
6. Each player then selects their instrument by tapping on their choice.
7. All players tap the arrow in the bottom of the screen to begin the final download.
Game Controls / How To Play
1. Guitar: When the batch of colored arrows moving along the top of the lower screen reaches the empty arrows on the left, strum (draw a line) up OR down on the correct color.
2. Keyboard: When the colored note moving along the top of the lower screen reaches the circle on the left, play the note (tap on the colored not on the keyboard) with the matching color.
3. Bass: When the colored note moving along the top of the lower screen reaches the empty circle on the left, strum (draw a line) left OR right on the correct color.
4. Drums: When the colored drum picture moving along the top of the lower screen reaches the empty circle on the left, play (tap) the correct drum.

Overall Goals
2. Hit the highest possible score (400) for each note.
