Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. When the map appears on the upper screen, the host can tap the lower screen to skip the opening.
4. When the logo appears on the upper screen, the host can tap the lower screen to load the main menu.
Downloading
1. The host taps "Battle Mode" (the middle option).
2. The host taps "DS Wireless Play" (the bottom option).
3. The host taps "DS Download Play" (the bottom option).
4. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
5. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
6. When the graphic bar appears saying "HEAVY ARMOR BRIGADE", the guests tap on it.
7. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
8. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps "Next" in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. The host selects the battle mode by tapping on their choice...
1a. Battle Royal: every player is on their own team
1b. Team Battle: two teams of two are set up, with extra players being filled in by the computer-controlled players
2. The host selects the game mode by tapping on their choice...
2a. Atttack: each tank attacks each other tank
2b. Flag: players score points when the target vehicle is destroyed (Battle Royal) or when any opposing vehicle is destroyed (Team Battle)
3. The host selects the time limit by tapping on their choice (2 min, 6 min, or 9 min).
4. When these options are set as desired, the host taps the "START/GO!!" button in the bottom center of the lower screen.
NOTE: In subsequent games, different players select the options and not always the host.
5. Each player then selects their tank; to change their selection the press the left or right arrows on the side edges of the lower screen.
6. When a tank is selected, each player taps the "START/GO!!" button in the bottom center of the lower screen.
7. The game will begin once all players have tapped the "START/GO!!" button.
Game Controls / How To Play
1. Move The Tank: draw a line, beginning with the tank's location, on the lower screen
2. Scroll The Map: press up, down, left, or right on the Direction Pad
3. Aim/Look In A Direction: tap in a location on the map to aim/look in that direction
4. Fire: hold down the "L" button and tap the map on the desired firing destination
5. Switch Between Weapons: tap the desired weapons icon in the bottom right corner of the lower screen
6. Change The Gun Angle: tap on the Gun Angle ("Angle") icon on the right side of the lower screen to cycle through the available angles
7. Access The Battle Simulation Map: tap on the Battle Simulation Map ("S-Map") icon in the top right corner of the lower screen
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, the view of the battlefield is shown.
2. On the upper screen, the time remaining is in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, the current mode ("Move" or "Attack") is displayed in the bottom left corner.
4. On the upper screen, the current scores are shown in the top right corner.
5. On the upper screen, your current hit points remaining is displayed on the bar in the bottom right corner.
6. On the upper screen, your current armor status is shown above your current hit points.
7. On the upper screen, a red arrow indicating an enemy tank's heading is show above any enemy tank currently on screen.
8. On the upper screen, a number indicating an enemy tank's distance away is shown below its red arrow.
9. On the upper screen, a yellow bar indicating an enemy tank's current hit points is shown below its red arrow and distance number.
10. On the lower screen, an overhead map is displayed.
11. On the lower screen, the Battle Simulation Map ("S-Map") icon is in the top right corner of the screen.
12. On the lower screen, the Gun Angle ("Angle") icon is below the Battle Simulation Map icon on the right side.
13. On the lower screen, the two weapons icons will be in the bottom right corner of the screen below the "S-Map" and the "Angle" icons.
