Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. The host taps "Multiplayer" (the bottom option).
2. The host taps their choice of game type from the following...
2a. Cooperative (players work together to find the five differences between the pictures before time runs out)
2b. Competitive (players compete to find the five differences between the pictures before time runs; players can cast attack spells on other players)
2c. Last Man Standing (players compete to be the first to find the differences between the pictures)
NOTE: There will will one less difference than the number of players, so each player but one will be able to find a difference).
3. (All Modes) The host taps their choice for the difficulty of the pictures (Rookie, Amateur, Connoisseur, and Expert).
4. (Cooperative & Competitive) The host taps on the number of pictures that must be successfully completed in a row (5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50).
Downloading
1. The game will ask "Play using DS Wireless Communications?" The host taps the check mark to the bottom right of the gray box.
3. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
4. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
5. When the graphic bar appears saying "Foto Frenzy", the guests tap on it.
6. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
7. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps the check mark in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
Game Controls / How To Play
1. Look for differences in the two versions of the picture: the version on the upper screen and the version on the lower screen.
2. Differences can include something added/removed, something moved (angle/location/etc.), or something changed (texture/color/etc.) between the photos.
3. When a difference is spotted, tap the lower screen in the location of the difference.
4. To access the options menu (to change the music or sound effects volume), tap the white options menu icon in the bottom right corner of the screen or press the Start button.
5. To cast a spell (when available), tap the gray box near the bottom right corner, to the left of the options menu icon.
6. If a tap is made in error...
6a. Cooperative: Both players lose several second off the timer.
6b. Competitive: The player that made the error loses several seconds off the timer.
6c. Last Man Standing: The player that made the error's screens both shake for several seconds and won't accept taps during that time.
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, one version of the picture is shown.
2. On the upper screen, your score is shown in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, the countdown timer is displayed in the top center.
4. On the lower screen, a different version of the picture is shown.
5. On the lower screen, the number of differences found so far is represented in the bottom center.
6. On the lower screen, the currently available spell (if any) is to the right of the representation of the differences found so far.
7. On the lower screen, the options menu button is in the bottom right corner.
Overall Goals
1. Find all the differences in the two pictures.
2. Complete the task quicker than your opponent (Competitive and Last Man Standing modes).
