Hint #1 - Will Aim For Food
Aiming is essential in Dropcast. Often, it can be the difference between winning and losing. If you see that one of your opponent's stacks is higher than the ones surrounding it, start out by identifying it (whether it's the third from the right, the fifth from the left, etc.) and then find the same column on your playing field. Make sure to then concentrate your attacks on that column (by tapping on as many squares within that column that are part of a group of six or more).
Hint #2 - Beginners: Pick'N'Choose
For beginning players that are playing Dropcast for the first time, trying to keep track of four different colors of squares (five with the Special Ability tiles) and trying to create large groups can be difficult. As a learning strategy, try picking two of the four basic symbols and remove the other two basic colors in groups as little as two. If there are only two main colors to worry about, focus can be tightened up and larger groups should form more readily for the other two. One possibility it to focus on the third basic ability (the square with the circle inside) and the countering ability (the square with the minus sign inside), and to regularly eliminate the first two basic attacks (the squares with the triangles inside).
