Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. When "Press Start" appears on the upper screen, the host taps anywhere on the lower screen or presses the Start button.
4. If this is the first time the game has been played, a save file must be created.
4a. The game will ask for a User Name to attribute to the save file.
4b. Enter the User Name by tapping on the on-screen keyboard, located on the lower screen.
4c. To make a particular letter lower case, tap the "small" button near the bottom center of the lower screen after that letter has been tapped.
4d. When the name is entered, tap "OK" in the bottom right corner of the lower screen or press the Start button.
4e. When the profile's User Name is saved, tap "OK" in the center of the lower screen.
Downloading
1. The host taps "DS WIRELESS PLAY" (the second row from the top).
2. The host taps "VS" (the top row).
3. The host taps "DOWNLOAD PLAY" (the bottom row).
4. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
5. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
6. When the graphic bar appears saying "Draglade", the guests tap on it.
7. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
8. When the host's DS shows the correct name, the host taps that name and then confirms by tapping "YES" near the left center of the screen.
Game/Feature/Options Selection
1. The host selects their character by pressing up or down on the direction pad until the desired character is highlighted.
2. The host selects their character's colors by pressing the "L" button or "R" button until the desired color scheme is shown on the character.
3. To accept the selected character and color scheme for their character, the host taps "OK" in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
4. The host selects their opponent's character by pressing up or down on the direction pad until the desired character is highlighted.
5. The host selects their opponent's character's colors by pressing the "L" button or "R" button until the desired color scheme is shown on the character.
6. To accept the selected character and color scheme for their opponent's character, the host taps "OK" in the bottom right corner of the lower screen.
Game Controls / How To Play
1. Move: Press left or right on the direction pad.
2. Jump: Press the "B" button; press the "B" button while in the air to Double Jump.
3. Crouch: Press (and hold) down on the direction pad.
4. Block: Press (and hold) the "R" button.
5. Basic Light Attacks: Press "Y" button alone, press the "Y" button while holding up on the direction pad, or press the "Y" button while holding down on the direction pad.
6. Basic Hard Attacks: Press "X" button alone, press the "X" button while holding up on the direction pad, or press the "X" button while holding down on the direction pad.
7. Bullet Attacks: Press "A" button alone, press the "A" button while holding up on the direction pad, or press the "A" button while holding down on the direction pad.
NOTE: Bullet attacks, the strongest attacks, can only be used when there is enough Bullet Power available. When Bullet attacks are available, the "OK" to the left of their name on the lower screen will be lit up and the buttons that must be pushed to activate it will be flashing below the "OK" symbol.
8. Swap Bullet Attacks: Tap any of the Bullet Attacks in the right column to swap them for the Bullet Attack immediately to their left.
8a. Only Bullet Attacks in the left column can be used, and only when lit up.
8b. The Bullet Attack on the left side of the top row will always be performed by pressing the "A" button while holding up on the direction pad.
8c. The Bullet Attack on the left side of the middle row will always be performed by pressing the "A" button alone.
8d. The Bullet Attack on the left side of the bottom row will always be performed by pressing the "A" button while holding down on the direction pad.
9. Activate Beat Combo: Press the "L" button.
10. Pause: Press the Start button.
11. Drop Down From A Platform: Press the "B" button while holding down on the direction pad (not used in Single-Card Download play).
What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, the battlefield is displayed.
2. On the upper screen, the host's profile and Matter Gauge (remaining life force) are located in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, the host's Matter Points (written out numerically as "Current / Starting Total") is beneath the host's profile and Matter Gauge.
4. On the upper screen, the guest's profile and Matter Gauge (remaining life force) are located in the top right corner.
5. On the upper screen, the guest's Matter Points (written out numerically as "Current / Starting Total") is beneath the guest's profile and Matter Gauge.
6. On the upper screen, the Bullet Power Gauge (indicating your current level of Bullet Power) is near the bottom right corner (displayed as blue segments).
7. On the upper screen, the Bullet Power Meter (each time it fills, the Bullet Power Gauge increases) is beneath the Bullet Power Gauge.
8. On the upper screen, the Rhythm Gauge (used for Beat Combos) is near the bottom right corner (displayed as a series of parallel, horizontal, blue lines).
9. On the upper screen, the Rhythm Timing Display (indicating Beat Combo accuracy) is beneath the Rhythm Gauge ("COOL!!" and "GOOD!" and "BAD.").
10. On the upper screen, the time remaining (there is no time limit in Single-Card Download play) would be in the top center of the screen.
11. On the lower screen, the Main Bullets (the ones that are currently available) are in the left column.
12. On the lower screen, the Stock Bullets (the ones that are being held in waiting) are in the right column.
13. On the lower screen, when a Bullet is ready for use, the orange "OK" icon will be lit up on the left of each Main Bullet (along with flashing button instructions).
14. On the lower screen, the Bullet's Bullet Power requirement will be displayed on the right side of each Bullet's tile.
