Basic Setup
1. With the power off, the host loads the game cartridge into their Nintendo DS system.
2. The host powers their system on, then taps on the "Warning" screen and then on the graphic for the game.
3. When a light blue "Start" button appears on the lower screen, the host taps this new button.
4. If this is the first time the game has been played, a new profile must be created.
Downloading
1. The host taps on "Options" (the bottom bar).
2. The host taps on "Give Data" (the bottom bar).
3. The host then decides which game to send as a downloadable demo: "Fossil Hunt" (the top bar) or "Dino Battle" (the bottom bar).
4. If the host selects "Fossil Hunt" as the game to sent...
4a. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
4b. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
4c. When the graphic bar appears saying "Dino Master Fossil Hunt", the guests tap on it.
4d. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
4e. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps "Start" in the center of the screen.
5. If the host selects "Dino Battle" as the game to sent...
5a. The guest(s) will power on their Nintendo DS system.
5b. The guest(s) tap on the "Warning" screen and then on the "DS Download Play" button.
5c. When the graphic bar appears saying "Dino Master Dinosaur Battle", the guests tap on it.
5d. The guests' DS systems will ask "Would you like to download this software? Tap "Yes".
5e. When the host's DS says that all guests trying to connect are connected, the host taps "Start" in the center of the screen.

Game Controls / How To Play
1. In Fossil Hunt, your hunter must excavate as much of the board as possible (excavated area will turn brown like dirt, regardless of what it looked like before).
2. To move the vehicle, touch the vehicle with the stylus and drag it along the border of the non-excavated/outside board (the vehicle serves as the starting point).
3. When the vehicle is at the desired starting point, begin drawing a line into the unexcavated area (the hunter will walk where you draw).
4. Without allowing the hunter to come into contact with a bug or a bug's attack, draw a line back to the non-excavated/outside area.
5. The area encircled by the hunter will become excavated, any enemies in the excavated area will perish, and the vehicle can now venture along the nexly excavated area.
6. Tap in an empty, unexcavated area to return the archeologist to his truck.
7. Any question mark boxes encircled (Pick Ups) will reandomly become an item for use.
1. In Dino Battle, two dinosaurs will be randomly selected for the battle.
2. Different dinosaurs have different power levels (damage dealt), hit points (damage taken for defeat), and attack/defend spots.
3. Begin by tapping "Attack" for a basic attack or "Tech" for special moves (if available, special moves can be used once per battle).
NOTE: There will be a ten second countdown to complete this step of the process.
4. If the choice was "Attack" in the previous step, you'll next select the attack spot (where on the opposing dinosaur the attack will be attempted).
5. If the choice was "Tech" (and there are some special abilities available) in the previous step, tap on the desired technique and on-screen instructions will follow.
6. To confirm all the decisions made so far, tap "Decide" on the left side of the lower screen.
7. Next, tap "Defend" or "Tech" for the defensive step.
8. If the choice was "Defend" in the previous step, you'll next select the defend spot (the spot on your own dinosaur you'll defend).
9. If the choice was "Tech" (and there are some special abilities available) in the previous step, tap on the desired technique and on-screen instructions will follow.
10. To confirm all the decisions made so far, tap "Decide" on the left side of the lower screen.

What To Look For
1. On the upper screen, the dig site is the green portion of the map.
2. On the upper screen, the amount of time left (in seconds) is displayed in the bottom left corner.
3. On the upper screen, the number of lives the hunter has remaining is displayed in the top right corner.
4. On the upper screen, the number of complete fossils excavated is displayed in the middle of the right edge of the screen.
5. On the upper screen, the percentage of the dig site that's been excavated is displayed in the bottom right corner.
6. On the lower screen, the lines that the vehicle can drive on are drawn in red.
1. On the upper screen, the opposing dinosaur is displayed.
2. On the upper screen, the opposing dinosaur's current and total HP are displayed in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, the opposing dinosaur's attack power (damage dealt by a successful standard hit) is displayed in the top right corner.
4. On the lower screen, the controlled dinosaur's current and total HP are displayed in the top left corner.
5. On the lower screen, the controlled dinosaur's attack power (damage dealt by a successful standard hit) is displayed in the top right corner.
6. On the lower screen, the touch point (for selecting attack/defend spots) is on the right side of the screen.
Overall Goals
1. Excavate over 70% of the field.
2. Extract dinosaur skeletons.
1. Defeat the opposing dinosaur.
2. Don't become extinct again!
