Game Controls / How To Play - Gradius
1. Before beginning, press the Select button to "put in quarters for credits".
2. To begin playing the game, press the Start button.
3. Move Up: Press up on the Direction Pad.
4. Move Down: Press down on the Driection Pad.
5. Move Left: Press left on the Direction Pad.
6. Move Right: Press right on the Direction Pad.
7. Shoot: Press the "B" button.
8. Upgrade: Press the "Y" button (when available).
9. Missile: Press the "A" button (when available).
What To Look For - Gradius
1. On the upper screen, the gameplay is displayed.
2. On the upper screen, Player 1's Score is to the right of the "1P" in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, Player 1's Extra Lives are beneath the "1P" in the top left corner.
4. On the upper screen, the high score is in the top center.
5. On the upper screen, Player 2's Score is to the right of the high score and the "2P" along the top of the screen.
6. On the upper screen, Player 2's Extra Lives are beneath the "2P" along the top of the screen.
7. On the lower screen (Co-op Game), the PAUSE button is in the bottom left corner.
8. On the lower screen (Co-op Game), the RESET button is in the bottom center.
9. On the lower screen (Co-op Game), the EXIT button is in the bottom right corner.
10. On the lower screen (Demo), the two screen orientation buttons are in and near the top left corner of the screen.
NOTE: In order, the screen orientation buttons are LATERAL FULL and LATERAL 1X1.
11. On the lower screen (Demo), the PAUSE button is along the bottom of the screen, to the left.
12. On the lower screen (Demo), the RESET button is along the bottom of the screen, in the center.
13. On the lower screen (Demo), the EXIT button is along the bottom of the screen, to the right.
14. On the lower screen (Dual DS Game), a duplication of the DS's buttons and Direction Pad is shown, indicating when buttons are pushed (guest).
15. On the lower screen (Dual DS Game), the PAUSE button is along the bottom of the screen, to the left (guest).
16. On the lower screen (Dual DS Game), the RESET button is along the bottom of the screen, in the center (guest).
17. On the lower screen (Dual DS Game), the EXIT button is along the bottom of the screen, to the right (host and guest).
Overall Goals - Gradius
1. Score the most points.
2. Stay alive/active the longest.
Game Hints - Gradius
2. Remember: damage can come from enemy fire, touching the enemy, or touching the ground or ceiling.

Replay Controls / How To Watch - Gradius
1. While watching a replay, a previously played game will be shown.
2. The only options are to pause the replay, rewind the replay, stop the replay (quit), or change the screen orientation.
3. To pause the replay, tap the on-screen "PAUSE" button.
4. To rewind the replay, tap the on-screen "REWIND" button.
5. To stop the replay, tap the on-screen "STOP" button (this will exit the replay and require the system to be turned off).
6. To make the upper screen show the action using the entire upper screen, tap the "LATERAL FULL" button.
7. To make the upper screen show the action using the original aspect ratio (which is bigger than the screen), tap the "LATERAL 1X1" button.
What To Look For - Gradius
1. On the upper screen, the replay will be shown.
2. On the upper screen, Player 1's Score is to the right of the "1P" in the top left corner.
3. On the upper screen, Player 1's Extra Lives are beneath the "1P" in the top left corner.
4. On the upper screen, the high score is in the top center.
5. On the upper screen, Player 2's Score is to the right of the high score and the "2P" along the top of the screen.
6. On the upper screen, Player 2's Extra Lives are beneath the "2P" along the top of the screen.
7. On the lower screen, the amount of time that has elapsed in the replay is in the top left corner.
8. On the lower screen, the buttons currently being pushed are shown in the top right corner.
9. On the lower screen, the two screen orientation buttons are in the middle left of the screen.
NOTE: In order, the screen orientation buttons are LATERAL FULL and LATERAL 1X1.
10. On the lower screen, the REWIND button is along the bottom of the screen, to the left.
11. On the lower screen, the PAUSE button is along the bottom of the screen, in the center.
12. On the lower screen, the STOP button is along the bottom of the screen, to the right.
